December 23 More troops welcomed home in GJ
It has been busy at Grand Junction Walker Field airport the past several days. Tonight while waiting after a soldier was bumped off his flight and hoping for the next one we had the honor of being there to greet some navy and army personnel that we hadn't had notifications on.

We have been notified of a WELCOMING HOME for Tyler Long USMC coming from Iraq Deployment his mother has requested our presence. Due to arrive 2130(9:30pm) Dec 20th Walker Airfield
We have been requested to a HOME COMING of Army Specialist Cody J Boden December 16 Wreaths across AmericaPGR of the Western Slope invited us to attend the ceremony and the laying of the wreaths for Wreaths across America-- Dec 14th and 15th, at the Veterans Memorial Cemetary on D Rd.
HomecomingsWe have been honored to attend 2 ghomecmings at Walker Field Airport recently.
Dec 1 -- Parade of LightsDespite the winter storm warnings, the winds gusting to 40 mph and the driving sleet the Grand Valley Blue Star Moms assembled the float and participated in the parade. The crowds were out despite the weather too and although we had few items donated at the parade itself we did collect $92 in the boot that was passed.
Christmas Care packagesWe had a great response from the community following a short notice and it was great to be able to fill all the boxes and have enough money for postage as well.
November 26 ParadeWe will have a float in the parade of lights on Dec 1st. Items are needed to fill the boxes for the christmas care packages ASAP and money needed to get them shipped.
We are gaining members and it is great to see all the moms joining us.
We will be doing care packaging and cards on Dec 6th -- the time has not been confirmed. Also on Dec 6 we will have a meeting following the packaging. Volunteers are welcome for the packaging. If you have a friend or loved one you would like to have added to our list for packages (and serviceman/woman who won't be home for Christmas) email info@gvbluestarmothers.org
We have been invited to attend Wreaths across America On Dec 15th at the cemetary on D road. Volunteers are also needed for laying the wreaths the afternoon of the 14th.
November 13 Next MeetingGrand Valley Blue Star Mothers next meeting Nov 19th, 6:30 pm, 640 Belford Ave (off 7th) Grand Junction, CO.This will be an informational meeting, learn what Blue Star Moms is all about.
